There were 5 of us women in a van returning from a Women's Prayer Union retreat at St. Simons Island on Saturday afternoon around 6:20pm.

Hi Friends, On our way home yesterday I heard a strange noise. We were going 70mph on 95 near St. Augustine. At the same time a man pulled up by the passenger side and said, "You have a flat tire." Lisa hit the brakes right away. I yelled, "Don't hit the brakes-just hold it steady!' We started smelling burning rubber and Lisa could see rubber flying off in the mirror.

We had to pull by the left median because the traffic was so heavy and we were near that side. What is so great is that God prepared the way! A few months ago I read an article in the newspaper telling that if you have a tire problem, you never hit the brakes. You hold it steady and pull to the side when you slow down.

We had quite a few fatal accidents around central Florida in the last year because people would have a tire problem and hit the brakes and then lose control and roll or cross the median. My husband and I discussed that article and it stuck in my mind. When I yelled at Lisa I didn't even know I was going to say anything-it all happened so fast! The Lord had it still be daylight and we were near an exit so we could give an exact location. Alice had AAA service and they came much faster than they told her they would. God saved us and took care of all the details and we praised him all the way home.

Blessings, Claudia T
